Joey is from Tennessee and was raised in North Carolina. He has a background in wrestling, baseball, bodybuilding, and is an outdoor enthusiast seeking the next big adventure or adrenaline rush (cliff jumping, hiking, climbing, off-roading, snowboarding, and camping to list a few activities) alongside his wife. His passion for human performance enhancement and new interest in the medical world merged towards physical therapy after his father’s passing from a motorcycle accident. He has worked permanently and in traveling positions with in-depth experience in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. To compliment his PT background, Joey completed an internship as a strength and conditioning coach with Florida State University, where he assisted coaches with student-athlete (Olympic and elite) program development for men and women’s track and field (distance, hurdles, sprint, throwers, and jumpers), men and women’s swimming/diving, beach and indoor volleyball, and women’s softball. His favorite modes of treatment include dry needling coupled with strength training; however, Joey emphasizes a holistic and individualized approach towards optimizing physical health.
