A unique movement practice with roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, and dance.
The Technique
The GYROTONIC method is an original and unique movement practice which has roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, and dance. Exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements that flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions combined with corresponding breaths. These fluid movements allow the joints to gently move through a natural range of motion, and help to create balance, efficiency, strength, and flexibility in the body.
A GYROTONIC session at IRG
GYROTONIC sessions are frequently a second phase of treatment that expand upon proper movement and solidifies the alignment that you and your IRG therapist have achieved with manual therapy interventions. Together with our certified GYROTONIC trainer Barbara Dick, your therapist will design a customized treatment plan to restore harmony to your body’s movement patterns. GYROTONIC equipment is highly adjustable and can be customized to fit each person’s unique physique and ability, adapting for things such as height, arm and leg length, and physical ability. These two-on-one sessions are held in our GYROTONIC room, overseen by your IRG therapist.
